Bodegas Enguera
Aliats Orange
A super interesting wine and a crowd pleaser at that. Made with three weeks of skin contact, this is the rare pre-phylloxera Valencian grape Verdil in a whole new light, punched up with 20% Chardonnay bringing its nice round body and acidity to the mix. A clementine and herbaceous nose with a tennis ball tightness unwinds in the glass, leading to a palate full of citrus fruit, enough to convince daring neophytes of the orange wine world to conclude there may be actual oranges in here. Rest assured, it's all grapes all day my friends!
