Bodegas Enguera

2023 Valencia DO Aliats Verdil Orange

Aliats Orange is crafted from the extremely rare native Valencian variety Verdil, saved from extinction by the brothers’ grandfather, Pedro Pérez Pardo. This is a beguiling wine that wins over orange wine skeptics with its clean, exotic profile of mango, cardamom, coriander seed, and preserved peaches and tangerines. As a carbonic maceration, it gathers the phenols and colour from the verdil skins without the development of ascentic volatiles. It has a hint of RS, creating a perfect pairing partner for spicy aromatic cuisines like those of India, Thailand, and Mexico. Always a pleasure to pour for people, such a surprising and easy-to-love wine.
