Fattoria La Rivolta

2019 Beneventano Rosso IGT Simbiosi Riserva

Aglianico and Piedirosso have always felt like they belong together in the hills around Sannio. Aglianico brings the darker fruit, structure, and a quiet earthy depth, while Piedirosso keeps things bright, juicy, and wonderfully drinkable. The combination just works!

"The 2019 Rosso Simbiosi opens in the glass with hauntingly dark violet florals and balsamic spice, complicating crushed blackberries and ashen stones. This is surprisingly lifted and energetic, with silken textures contrasted by vibrant acidity as masses of tart red and black fruits saturate the palate. It finishes with a pleasantly bitter sensation and grippy tannins, all offset by a twang of sour citrus as a savory herbal thrust punctuates the finale. The 2019 is youthfully intense yet balanced for a long and steady evolution. This is a blend of 85% Aglianico and 15% Piedirosso raised in a combination of barrique and tonneaux." -94pts, Eric Guido, Vinous
