Fattoria La Rivolta

Taburno Sannio DOC Piedirosso

Piedirosso is one of those Campanian grapes locals talk about with quiet pride. Around Naples, they call it Per ’e Palummo, which means “pigeon’s foot,” because the little red stem on the ripening berries really does look like a bird’s leg. It is a small, charming detail that tells you how rooted this grape is in the region.

It is not flashy or famous, but in the glass it is so easy to like. You get bright red fruit, a little volcanic snap, and that gentle herbal note that only comes from these soils. People often blend it, but when it is pure Piedirosso, it really shines. Light, lively, and quietly beautiful.
