Tombolo Manzoni Bianco Toscana IGT

Ejamu

A judicious selection of their best fruit, this second vintage of Tombolo was wild-fermented in just one second-fill French oak barrique with weekly bâtonnage. It rested seven months before bottling. This is an ambitious, developed expression of Manzoni Bianco, a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Blanc from the 1930's that has captured the hearts and minds of many young vignerons for its taut structure, elegant panoply of vibrant fruit, and ability to retain acidity in warmer climes. We are proud to receive 60 bottles of the total 300 made.

An intense and bright straw yellow colour happily greets the eye. The nose is broad and refined with hints of exotic fruit and citrus, white flowers and mineral nuances. On the palate, the wood marries extraordinarily well with the wine, adding texture and complexity with hints of butter and spice that mingles well with the pleasant salinity running through the finish. Lovers of well-made French Chenin and Chard should enjoy the view from up here!

"Bright, intense straw yellow. Very aromatic nose, apricot, yellow peach, some honey, then ripe fruit on the palate, broad structure, well-integrated alcohol, comes with several layers, exciting interpretation, precise." 94 Falstaff
