Alario Claudio

2023 Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba Superiore DOCG Sori’ Pradurent

Sorì Pradurent is a true labour of love for the Alario family, a vineyard Claudio pursued for decades before finally making it his own. Planted in 2003 with the first harvest in 2006, this small production Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba Superiore comes from vines that naturally produce smaller, looser bunches, concentrating both flavour and structure. The tufaceous soils, rich in limestone, give the wine its signature tension and age-worthy frame.

Firm tannins wrap around a core of pure dark fruit, giving the wine structure and definition without ever feeling heavy. There is richness here, yet it stays fresh and lively, carrying through to a long, mineral-tinged finish. This is the kind of Dolcetto you can dive into now with a splash in the decanter, yet it has the stuffing to evolve gracefully over three to five years, revealing layers of black cherry, blackberry, and subtle violet as it opens. It’s a powerful wine, the little sweetie that proves it has more to say than you might expect.
