Alario Claudio
2023 Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG Sori’ Costa Fiore
On the nose, dark ripe fruit takes the lead, lifted by an unexpected tropical note. The palate is structured yet wrapped in generous, ripe flavours, carrying through to a long finish with a mineral thread from the limestone soils. This Dolcetto charms immediately but also rewards a little patience in the cellar.
Region: Diano d’Alba
Appellation: Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG
Varietal/Blend: 100% Dolcetto
ABV: 14.5%
Vineyard: This wine comes from a 2-hectare estate vineyard in Diano d’Alba at 350 meters above sea level, with a south-westerly exposure. The vines, over 60 years old, are Guyot-trained and planted at a density of 4,000–5,000 vines per hectare. They grow on marl-limestone soils with a small percentage of clay, hand-harvested in mid-September.
Cellar: Grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for seven days. The wine is then aged for one year in stainless steel.
