Alario Claudio

2021 Barolo DOCG Cru Riva Rocca MGA MAGNUM

This is the vineyard where Claudio Alario crafted his first Barolo in 1995. He was immediately captivated by the chalky subsoil, which sets this Verduno site apart and gives its Nebbiolo a broader, more refined tannic profile. The vineyard is classified as an MGA, or Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva, a single-vineyard designation that highlights sites with unique soils, exposures, and microclimates. By selecting the best bunches, every bottle captures the elegance, depth, and distinctive character of this remarkable cru. Serve at 16–18°C and enjoy in its vibrant youth, though it will evolve gracefully over the next few years.
