Domaine Tissot
2017 Arbois AOC Vin Jaune Les Bruyères
Region: Arbois, Jura
Appellation: Arbois AOC
Varietal/Blend: 100% Savagnin
ABV: 15.5%
Vineyard & Vine Age: Domaine Tissot Vin Jaune Les Bruyères comes from biodynamic vineyards at 250–450 meters altitude. The 45- to 80-year-old vines, planted with selection Massale, grow on clay and blue marl soils in a cool continental climate, producing intensely concentrated wines.
Cellar: Domaine Tissot Vin Jaune Les Bruyères is spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeast in neutral French oak barriques. The wine ages at least six years in old barrels without top-ups, developing a yeasty character. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
CSPC: 141014
Winemakers Note: []
What the Critics are saying: "2017 was a warm year marked by killer frost, the first in the series of recent years affected by frost, but despite all the challenges, the Vin jaune from this vintage is very good. The 2017 Les Bruyères Vin Jaune, from a terroir of Trias clay and marl, has the classical Arbois style of Jaune—open and large—with 15.5% alcohol and a very smoky personality, a little in the style of En Spois." 95/100.
