Domaine Tissot
2022 Côtes du Jura AOC Pinot Noir En Barberon
Region: Côtes du Jura
Appellation: Côtes du Jura AOC
Varietal/Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
ABV: 12.5%
Vineyard & Vine Age: Pinot Noir En Barberon comes from 1.8 hectares of estate-grown vines rooted in Lias clay (east and west-facing exposure). The vineyard is a mix of 50-year-old and younger 8-year-old vines, planted at 7,000 per hectare, farmed organically since 1999 and biodynamically since 2004 (Ecocert, Biodyvin). The 2022 vintage was very warm, giving moderate yields yet retaining a vibrant freshness and lift, even with naturally higher alcohol levels, showing the vineyard’s remarkable balance and energy.
Cellar: Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates and carefully sorted, then undergo whole-cluster maceration for four weeks in upright, truncated cone-shaped wooden vats. The wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels, with a light addition of sulfur after malolactic fermentation, and is bottled unfiltered. Total SO₂ remains ≤ 20 mg/L.
CSPC: 141022
Winemakers Note: []
What the Critics are saying: "The 2022 Pinot Noir En Barberon is from clay soils and fermented with full clusters, had four weeks of maceration and matured in oak for two years. So, according to the logic promoted by Pierre Overnoy, if it matured two years in barrel, it should also have two years in bottle. It has a more Burgundian profile, more immediate with some spiciness, faintly marked by the wood." 92/100. Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Sep 11 2025
