Agapanthe Mourvèdre Rosé Grande Cuvée

France
Rosé
Biodynamic Wine
Organic

Region:  Saint-Chinian, Languedoc

Appellation:  Pays d'Oc IGP

Varietal/Blend:  100% Mourvèdre

ABV:  13.5%

Vineyard & Vine Age: This wine comes from organic estate vineyards at 150-200 meters with the red iron rich limestone soils of this Eocene epoch scree. Located in the South of the Saint-Chinian appellation, the vines are grandfathered into a 3,000-hectare Natura 2000 national park. The biodiversity here is extreme. Hand harvested into small crates. Yields of only 40 hl/ha. Harvested October 3rd!

Cellar: Whole-cluster Mourvèdre direct pressed to new and second fill French oak barrels where it fermented two weeks at a steady temperature of 17ºC. After five months on the lees the wine was blended and bottled with less than 20ppm of SO2.

CSPC:  132330

Winemakers Note:  “This rosé vinted in new barrels displays a pale salmon-pink hue. Its nose offers a subtle fusion of red fruit and citrus perfumes with delicate toast notes. On the palate it is seductively full, fat and clean. This is a food-friendly rosé that is generous yet elegant. Recommended pairing: grilled octopus.”
