2022 Saint-Péray AOC Version Longue

Domaine François Villard

The ‘Long Version’, so to speak, differs from the regular Version Saint-Péray in that it is a selection of 100% Marsanne from a particular south facing slope of merit, sitting on decomposed granite clays. The Version Longue clocks in at a fuller bodied 13.5% ABV. This wine too is direct pressed to oak for a cool ferment with native yeast, however it is moved entirely into smaller French oak barriques, 10% of which are new, for a 12 month élevage, followed by four months in stainless steel before bottling. A truly precious expression of this hard-to-find appellation. 4,960 bottles made. Built to age beautifully! Cellaring Potential: 15 years.
