2012 Saint-Joseph AOC Gran Reflet

Domaine François Villard

From a wonderful vintage that is excellent to enjoy now comes Villard’s Gran Reflet, a wine taken from the same finished ferment as Reflet (see the write up on Reflet for all the vineyard and fermentation info) but these particular barrels were chosen to double their élevage time to 30 months (rather than 18), and then held back to age further in bottle in the cellars at the domain. Only 2,270 bottles made. 13%. Drink now or continue cellaring for up to 25 years (i.e. twelve years further). A phenomenal treat. Truly flaunts the rewards of patience.
