Domaine de la Solitude
Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC Vin de la Solitude Blanc
A complex nose of candied fruits, gingerbread and brioche. The palate is broad and smooth with a stone fruit prolile and a wonderful, mineral-appointed final that runs for miles. Serve at 10-12ºC.
"Another brilliant white from this estate, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vin De La Solitude Blanc checks in as 60% Clairette and 20% each Grenache Blanc and Roussanne. Its medium gold hue is followed by a Burgundian-like bouquet of orchard fruits, white flowers, and chalky minerality. As with many of Florent’s whites, it has a terrific sense of reduction as well as medium body, a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and integrated acidity." -Jeb Dunnuck, 96 points
"Beautifully detailed nose with peppery freshness. Intense, with fine tannins, gently saline and not overly marked by wood this year - lovely drinkability. This is excellent and based on a recipe belonging to an ancestor of the Lançon family. It's unusual in its proportion of Counoise; with it are co-fermented Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Clairette Rose and Grenache Blanc. Aged in three-year-old barriques. No filtration or fining." - 95 Decanter
