Casino delle Vie

Il Palagio

Sangiovese, etymologically, is a portmanteau for blood of god (the ancient one the Etruscans called Jove), and you can ride those bewitchingly ferrous and sanguine melodies right through this wine's dense core of cherry and bay leaves, enjoying little solos between verses from Merlot and Cab's signature plum and cassis vibes. Aged 18 months in French barriques, the oak notes are well incorporated. As it opens, you' find mulberries and tobacco as well. Lovely prune and leathery notes will also reward the patient folks who cellar this drop a few years more. But who can blame you if you crack in now!
