2022 Monferrato Nebbiolo DOC Robur

Nebbiolo can sometimes feel all angles and austerity in its youth, but here the grape shows a softer and more open-hearted side. The aromas drift between sour cherry, dried rose petals, blood orange, baking spice, and that mysterious woodland note that makes great Nebbiolo smell like it knows something you don't. Less austere than many of its Langhe cousins, this Monferrato Nebbiolo trades a little power for charm. The result is a beautifully expressive wine that captures Nebbiolo's perfume and elegance without demanding years of patience. A reminder that one of Italy's greatest grapes can be every bit as charming as it is profound.
