2021 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Pietra Rossa

Pietra Rossa comes from the family’s vineyard in the Salarco Alto area, and you can tell from the first sniff that these vines mean business. The nose slowly reveals forest floor, woodland berries, camphor, leather, herbs, and just a hint of spice. On the palate, truffle and star anise mingle with Morello cherry and wild raspberry, layering in a way that practically begs for another swirl and a closer sniff.

Vineyard:  Pietra Rosa vineyard in the Salarco Alto area of Montepulciano. The 35-year-old vines grow on two hectares of Pliocene red clay soils at 350 to 450 meters altitude with southeast exposure.
