Jazpémi Valtellina Superiore Valgella DOCG

Barbacàn

Jazpémi was Barbacàn’s first “cru” wine and is the most celebrated of their single vineyard cuvées. The Jazpèmi vineyard gives Chiavennasca that presents as rounder and fuller than its siblings. The plot’s sun drenched southern exposure and its old, deeply rooted vines produce a firmly built, regal wine year after year. In this wine the elegance and complexity of maturity meet. Jazpémi unfolds in deeply impacting flashes of raspberry, cherry, rosebud, and star anise, stretched over warm, clothbound tannins, balanced perfectly by the granitic minerality and happy acidity. Classically Nebbiolo but unmistakably Valtellina.
