Alario Claudio
2024 Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG Sori’ Montagrillo
A deep ruby hue introduces a fragrant nose of blackberry, black cherry, and ripe plum, accented by violet and a hint of almond. The palate is smooth, fresh, and engaging, carrying a wave of dark fruit framed by gentle tannins and a subtle, classic Dolcetto bitterness on the finish.
Region: Diano d’Alba
Appellation: Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba DOCG
Varietal/Blend: 100% Dolcetto
ABV: 13.5%
Vineyard: This wine comes from a single-hectare estate vineyard at 300 meters above sea level, with a south-easterly exposure. The vines, over 30 years old, are Guyot-trained and planted at a density of 4,000–5,000 vines per hectare. They grow on marl-sand soils, hand-harvested in mid-September.
Cellar: Grapes are gently pressed and fermented for 5–7 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for one year in stainless steel, without oak influence.
