Alario Claudio

2022 Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC Cascinotto

Just one kilometre from the village of Serralunga d’Alba, Cascinotto has always been Nebbiolo country. Soils low in sand but rich in limestone and marl create the perfect foundation for a serious expression of the grape. With vines now over forty years old, the site produces fruit with both power and precision, exactly the raw material Claudio Alario sought when he set out to craft a Nebbiolo d’Alba that could comfortably stand alongside Barolo.

The nose is classic Nebbiolo, all rose petal, red cherry, and wild strawberry with playful hints of tar, spice, and crushed stone. On the palate, it’s firm and structured, with polished tannins hugging a core of bright red fruit. Fresh, balanced, and lively, it sails to a long, savoury finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
