2023 Sancerre AOC La Merisière Sauvignon Blanc

La Merisière Blanc is a Sancerre that wears its terroir lightly but unmistakably, with clay-limestone soils, flint, and the villages of Chavignol and Sury-en-Vaux whispering through every sip. The nose is immediate and alive, with bright citrus zest, crisp white fruits, and a subtle smoky flinty note that invites another inhale. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet poised, fresh and energetic, carrying ripe fruit with graceful minerality and a gentle, lingering finish.

Serve at around 12°C, alone or with simple pleasures such as oysters, a flaky white fish, or fresh goat’s cheese. Ready to drink now, it will also reward patience over the next 2 to 5 years. A truly charming Sancerre!
