Château la Grolet

2022 Côtes de Bourg AOC Cuvée Classique

"At the first sip, it is clear to see why 2022 has been held in such high esteem. The depth and concentration of this biodynamically farmed Côtes de Bourg is immense. Cocoa tannins frame a dense core of fresh blackberries, thyme, and black currant leaf, delivering a long finish that dances on the gums with a static electricity, promising a long unravelling in the decanter or the cellar. This is the new Bordeaux and the old Bordeaux at once, structured to age, and at a steal of a price—the perfect food wine. Drink now with a good decant or age 10-15 years further without issue. And at this price, you'd be remiss not to lay some down—your future self will thank you.

""This is Right Bank Bordeaux of the old school: soft, beautifully balanced and approachable, yet lean, pure and refreshing, with enough acidity to give life and shape to the wine. Grolet, owned and farmed by the Hubert family, is a great value, year in and year out."" — Eric Asimov, NY Times, Mar 31 2022. "
