Gilbert & Gaillard

Langedoc AOC Le Rosé

Pretty in pink, this fuller bodied rosé is equal parts savoury and fresh, a crispy wine chock-full of ripe red fruit and all mourvèdre’s spicy, gamey nuance. This is quintessential Mediterranean French rosé, a perfect partner to a host of dishes that hail from the same. Bouillabaisse anyone?

Organic

Region:  Saint-Chinian, Languedoc

Appellation:  Languedoc AOC

Varietal/Blend:  50% Grenache, 50% Syrah

ABV:  13.6%

Vineyard & Vine Age: This wine comes from organic estate vineyards at 150-200 meters with the red iron rich limestone soils of this Eocene epoch scree. Located in the South of the Saint-Chinian appellation, the vines are grandfathered into a 3,000-hectare Natura 2000 national park. The biodiversity here is extreme. Hand harvested into small crates. Yields are limited to 35 hl/ha. Grenache was picked September 8, Syrah September 2.

Cellar: Produced by the saignée method but with an extremely brief time on the skins, then fermented and aged in stainless steel and aged six months in stainless steel with some lees contact before bottling with only 17 ppm SO2 (22ppm total), preserving freshness while showcasing the purity of the organic fruit.

CSPC:  854609

Winemakers Note:  “Very fine citrus and white flowers on the nose. The palate shows great exuberance and is also very well-structured. The gorgeous citrussy nose aromas are also emphasized. A rosé for gourmet lovers.”
