Syrahdictive

Domaine des Masques

Domaine des Masque's "Syrahdictive" cuvée is only produced in the best vintages, adorned with a different work of art each release, and always quite limited. Produced from a strict plot selection and manual harvesting and with a different élevage and cépage each year, this wine is the apex expression of the Domaine's beloved Syrah. It represents so beautifully the plateau's unique high-altitude terroir and the climatic dynamics of each respective vintage.

In 2020, the wine is ever so elegant. The nose shows sweet spices, wild flowers, and so much garrigue. Notes of thyme, violet, and rose. As it breathes, the fruit reveals cherry and fresh fig aromas. On the palate the wine is silky, lively, and dynamic. It displays a juicy profile with tannins of great finesse and a long finish of cherry. Best enjoyed between 2024 and 2035. Best decanted. Serve at 16-18°C.

In each vintage, Carl & Sophie Mestdagh choose a different work from a contemporary art gallery in Brussels to adorn the bottle. The label on the 2020 vintage is a painting by the Belgian artist Benoît Platéus.
