Bordeaux Clairet AOC Bouches Baies Cabernet Franc

The 'Bouches Baies'—Berry Mouth—is fashioned after a classic Bordeaux Clairet where the classic tannic structure of Bordeaux is checked by a shorter maceration and a cooler ferment in stainless steel. These sandy soils were never the best for making extracted wines anyway but ideal for aromatic and fleet footed expressions, those big aromatics that Cab Franc acolytes swoon for. So why not make it a chilled affair! This wine is jjjjjuicyyyyy—but obviously not just juicy, it’s Cab Franc friendos!—it’s a racy fresh wine with notes of sour cherry, red currant, cranberry, and banana peppers. A perfect slide for all the glou glou dolls out there.

Winemakers Note:  Vibrant dark pink, very bright. Intense nose with strawberry and floral flavor. Round and fruity, with lovely richness. Generous persistent finish. Ideal as an aperitif, on a summer salad, pizzas, or grilled meat. To be enjoyed young and fresh.
