Amato Vino

Fusa Bianco

The 2024 Fusa Bianco from Margaret River's Amato Vino by Brad Wehr is a gem. Marsanne from two Wallcliffe vineyards blended with Verdelho from Treeton brings a creamy-yet-zesty sunshine wine of immense
smashability. Both varieties were separately picked, de-stemmed, and basket pressed to old oak to undergo natural fermentation in a short élevage. A couple of the Marsanne barrels were allowed to go through MLF, adding another layer of character to the final blend. The wines developed with low sulphur to allow some oxidative nuance and texture. The final blend gives us this bright buffet at the tropical fruit stand: banana, honeydew, lychee, and jasmine, all with some mandarin tang and cashew depth. Juicy and moreish with slate, lanolin, and earthy lemongrass on the finish.
