Barolo DOCG Serralunga d'Alba Leon Riserva

Rivetto

Rivetto's Leon Riserva Barolo is made from a selection of the best and most age-worthy barrels of Enrico Barolo di Serralunga d'Alba. These barrels are left out of the Barolo cuvée at the time of bottling and instead continue further on their ageing journey (a total of 40 or more months in oak followed by ~20 or so months in bottle). Biodynamic and beautiful, this is the apex expression of his Serra, Manocino, and San Bernardo vineyards. The patient among us will be rewarded in due time with the full blossom of this wine's intense nose. Notes of sweet tobacco, leather, and classic Serralunga umami. The palate will give sweet fruit and shaved truffle sculpted in finely integrated tannins.

Enrico recommends waiting 15-20 years from vintage to begin cracking into these gems.
