Casa Raia - 2010 Brunello di Montalcino

Casa Raia - 2010 Brunello di Montalcino

CASA RAIA

From vineyards sites previously owned by Biondi-Santi, we have a stunning example of a classic wine made with a focus on natural ferments, low sulphites, and hands off winemaking in minuscule quantities. One of perhaps 10 Montalcino producers doing what can be called natural winemaking. Every detail of sustainability is addressed here, from cooperage to cork, the wines lose nothing in their classic regionality. In 2010, a more upfront wine out of the gate. Dried red fruit, cedar, spices and all kinds of lovely complexity. Still built to last, but a more tangy, lifted red fruit profile and acidity. Super solid. Regal and Rare.
