Country: France
Region: Plateau du Cengle, Provence
Appellation: IGP Méditerranée
Climate: Cool Mediterranean
Altitude: 500m
Soils: Marls and Clay-limestone
Varietal/Blend: 93% Syrah, 7% Viognier
Fermentation: Syrah is 65% de-stemmed whole berries and 35% whole-cluster, supplemented whole-cluster Viognier. Fermented without added sulfites. Light pump-overs, aiming for finesse over extraction.
Ageing: Aged 12 months in a combination of roughly half terracotta amphoras (2020 is the first Syrahdictive vintage to do so) and half 600L French oak demi-muids. Blended and rested six months further in stainless steel prior to bottling. Bottled on a fruit day, unfined and unfiltered, on May 19, 2022.
Vineyard & Vine Age: Organic. A strict plot selection. The 2020 cuvée is a combination of the "Petite Syrah" (pun intended) hillside plot, harvested September 19th, and the "Danny" plot, the domaine's oldest vines, harvested September 30th. Manual harvest at night and in the early morning using small 15kg crates to prevent premature crushing. Viognier component from a small plot of selection massale vines brought by Yves Cuilleron from vineyards in Condrieu.
ABV: 13.0%
Produced Cases: 3000 bottles
CSPC: 886202
